Stop 5: The Turning Point – To Continue or Not?

The Main Highlight

To continue or not to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program—the most critical point of his journey. The Bachelor of Science in Psychology is not that well-known in his area. There are also circulating misconceptions that people who take the program are not in their right mind. As someone who once had no idea what psychology is about and what things they do, he himself is aware that he was influenced by such views.

Prior to entering the program and university, he had done research on it. He observed that the university had a good performance in the psychometrician board rating. He also researched that the program is a pretty versatile course, as it is considered a feeder course—where one can get into several fields—whether it be in human resources, clinical, educational, law, or even medical settings. This made him very intrigued about what the program could offer for his well-being and arsenal of skills.

Is it not ironic how someone influenced by such views ended up in a psychology program? But it never once crossed his mind to think about going to a different field, for he believes that once he starts something, he should go through it all the way.

He declares with conviction: “I will embody the Bachelor of Science in Psychology!” Although it was not one of the programs he had initially considered, as mentioned before, it is up to God’s plans and redirections to even greater things. He may not have liked it at first, but just like any other thing, we give time to develop likability and interest.

Thinking that maybe getting the highest grade in their current sole major subject, Introduction to Psychology, is God’s way of saying to pursue it even more, that He wants him to take this program and make a change for the betterment of the world with this degree.

He goes on with this journey with the saying, “Give time and take one step at a time, and God will guide you along the way.” This signifies the turning point that became a radiant, straight path—like a bright beam of light from above, God saying that this is for him.

“How touching a story, Mr. Conductor. How I wish I could declare such a thing with conviction when I am in a dilemma, having difficulty deciding between two crucial things,” says the young lad.

“Yes, young lad. He expressed it well—a decision that can be a life-changing factor. But what is he up to now in his current state?” says Mr. Conductor.
